CAIA has undertaken a comprehensive research into the motorcycle industry in Uganda. The objective of which is to establish an evidence based framework for promoting awareness, policy reforms and to help guide decisions on investments in transport sector and local manufacturing of electric cycles. The study included stakeholder consultations in the various regions of Uganda. Consultations were held in 7 (seven) towns covering 29 (twenty nine) districts. The meetings were held in Fort Portal covering Kabalore, Kyenjojo and Kasese for western region. Mbarara meeting covered Bushenyi, Lyantonde, Ntungamo and Masaka. Kabale meeting covered Kisoro and Ntungamo. Jinja covered eastern part of Mbale, Tororo, Kumi and Soroti. Lira meeting included Lira, Apac, Dokolo and Oyam. Gulu meeting covered Gulu, Pakwach, Nebbi and Arua and Kampala meeting covered Kampala, Wakiso and Mukono.
